[SOLVED] Cisco EPC3925 switched from DHCP to static ip can't connect now

My router has recently been switched to a static IP by accident from the router settings.It was in DHCP mode but due to the switch whenever I connect to it it says no internet.I can't even access the router settings page to switch it back to DHCP is there anything I can do?

If you know the IP it was set to, you could manually set your PC to a compatible IP. Otherwise, you would factory reset the router and access via default values.

I know what the ip address,default gateway and subnet mask were set to so what do I do from here

On a laptop or PC with a wired connection to the router, manually set the IP address of your laptop/PC to the same first first three numbers (X.Y.Z.N) as the router and set the final number to something like 199. Set the mask to 255.255.255.0 and leave the gateway blank.
You should then be able to put the router IP address into a browser and access the router.

Did you try HTTPS ? Can you ping the IP ?

It says request timed out when I ping it

If you can't ping it, then you may not have the IP address that the router was configured correct.
I think it is time for the factory reset and re-input your configuration

What will I need to do once it is reset to get everything back to normal.Do I need to set up the name and password again

After a factory reset, you would set the admin password, the SSID, the WIFI password and any ISP specific info you were given.

I don't know. Only you would know that. It looks like that Cisco is a combo cable modem/router with phones. If there was anything that had to be setup to get your phone numbers correct or other info like that.
