So I am currently looking for DDR4 RAM for my PC, and found a pretty cheap and good looking RAM Set that is also just 1 Stick so I can later still upgrade. The only thing is, is that it has a CL of 16. Is this bad? I mostly game on my PC or write homework in Word & Excel. Would the CL 16 hinder me in any of those activities?

Thanks in advance!

Solution
cl 16 is not bad.
Higher latency comes with faster ram. Ultimately, performance is related to how much ram you have more than the speed/latency.

But buying just one stick is bad.
Not only will you run in slower single channel mode, but
You have no guarantee that adding a second will work because ram must be matched.

Buy all your ram initially in a two stick kit.
