What is the difference between CL2 and CL3(latency) ?
Can anyone come up with the mathmatical number between two 128MB 100MHz DRam, when one is running with CL2 setting and another with CL3? Thanks a lot!

i sure cant, but i can tell you that pc-133 at CL2 is much faster than pc-150 at CL3..... thats according to tom.

...and i would have gotten away with it, if it weren't for you meddling kids...

When you mix Cas2 with Cas3, all the memory runs at Cas3 as long as it's autodetected. If you manually set it at Cas2 it could crash, but may not-this is a form of overclocking.

At 100 MHz FSB,
one clock cycle = 1/100,000,000 = 10 nanosec

For Cas 2,
Latency = 10 x 2 = 20 nanosec

For Cas 3,
Latency = 10 x 3 = 30 nanosec

It don't come easy.......not always.

I'm using DDR RAM, which is normally on Cas2.5, I set it to Cas2. What is the best test to see if it's working correctly on Cas2, a Memory test program? Or is normal use enough to see if it's working? It only improved 2fps in UT, that's all I noticed so far.
