Question CL20 or CL22, which is faster?

I was going to upgrade my ram to 32mb and just wondering which ram is faster.(I have hp, no access to xmp so stuck with jedec) I notice these second and third numbers and have no idea what they do.

At equal speed, lower timings are better.
3200 speed is what you can get via xmp.
Running at default speeds will be more like 2400

No it defaults to 3200 because it's 1.2 volt jedec.

TLDR - speed doesn't matter, if you have no control over it in BIOS.

If you have no access to XMP, then they probably will run the same @ 2133mhz or 2400mhz
with whatever CL - JEDEC SPD table has at that speed.

One thing I saw which I find curious and maybe I never noticed before but Crucial is giving those timings under/at JEDEC, not XMP.

Maybe someone else can clarify on if that's standard listing or if that means those timings only apply when using the default speed of 2400

2133 or 2400 is the speed at which a motherboard can boot to bios.
Possibly more depending on the motherboard.
What is your motherboard?

Once in bios, one can set to higher speeds. Technically, this is overclocking ram.
The speed you see printed on the part is the maximum speed supported by the ram.

i'm running it at 3200, it's 1.2 volt. Jedec spec for 22 CL Ram. I have one already.

Then get the same model ram module.
That gives highest chances for avoiding ram compatibility issues.

Doesn't matter, if your other module is CL22.
System will default to worst timings from both modules.

Technically, yes.
But you will not ever notice the difference.

Is the upgrade a replacement two stick kit like the OP showed in the initial post, or, is it somehow adding ram?
Mismatched ram brings in a whole other list of concerns.
