I purchased a Windows 8 Pro Upgrade Key card from Amazon (Link) I plan on doing a Clean install by booting from a USB drive with Windows 8 on it.

I just wanted to know if the Upgrade Key would be accepted, not give me a
"you cannot use this key to install windows because it is an upgrade key"
error when I type it in the Win8 setup.

If this won't work because of an error like the above, how might I do a clean install using a Upgrade Key?
I already have everything important to me on a flash drive so I'm ready when you are!

NOTE: this is about Windows 8 not Windows 8.1

Solution
If you're upgrading to Windows 8, this PC must be running Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (SP3), Windows 8 Release Preview, Windows 8 Consumer Preview, or Windows Developer Preview.

Are you saying what I bought isn't an upgrade key but just a normal key?
If you are then I should be able to install Windows 8 perfectly fine, right?

No, you should be running Windows XP, Vista or 7 in order to upgrade to Windows 8 with the key that you own, definitely as soon as you install it, it will never let you continue because it will recognize you are using a clean installation instead of an upgrade.
