So with my rog maximus vii hero i got a option to wipe my ssd.
I want to use this and then do a clean install of windows 10. but i am afraid it might mess up with the activation? (i just upgraded to windows 10 from 7 and im experiencing issues XD)
I'm not sure how that digital entitlement is saved so i'm worried if i wipe my ssd that gets erased as well.

Solution
if your win 10 is activated now and all you are doing is wiping drive and fresh installing, it won't do anything to activation.

digital entitlement is saved on the Microsoft servers. When you upgraded, Microsoft matched your old licence key to a code that is made up of some of the hardware in your PC, and created your entitlement. Now anytime you install win 10 on PC it will be recognised as being legit.

Also, you don't have to clean SSD before fresh installing as wiping entire drive is part of the process. See here: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1950-windows-10-clean-install.html

When you get to screen asking for licence key, click "I don't have a key" and win 10 will reactivate itself on install.

thanks for the answer :) i was researching if my ssd was supported by the maximus vii hero secure erase tool and came across that fact as well. so just went ahead with it and decided to risk it (not knowing about the digital entitlement bit) but good to know it will work anytime i install win 10 (tho i hope not to have to do it again XD)
