Hey, i'm sorry I couldn't find a nice title but my problem is weird and I don't understand it very well.

here is the story:

My laptop was very slow and I wanted to instal linux, unfortunatly I didn't know that trying to instal lunbuntu would not work, I did a windows recover and my pc now runs much faster (runs normal now)
It only has 270Gb of Hdd and only 25Gb left with alot of ranom stuff everywhere, so I wanted to reinstal windows, I burned a windows iso on my USB key but I keep getting a message asking me to load drivers, I added all my laptop's driver on the USB key but it didn't do anything.

So i'm asking if there is a way to easily erase everything on my pc WITHOUT touching the windows files or anything important. Maybe there is software for that ?

(Thank you for reading by the way I made a few posts and got alot of help)

Solution

1.microsoft has released a usb boot tool for win 8/7, use it to make a bootable usb

t2.hen just restat you laptop with the usb ,

3.turn on usb booting and change the boot priority to usb in the BIOS

I want to get the closest possible to a brand new laptop.
Exept i'm scared of breaking it and don't know much about computers
(I haven't been able to reinstal windows 7 in many hours had to repair twice to get back at where I am now)

Tried many times, it keeps asking for drivers, I got all the drivers for that laptop but still wont work; AND only my 2.0 usb port works and not my 3.0 so only one USB port in total..

So yeah i'm stuck 🙁

"no drivers found" and then asks me somewhere to locate them (tried putting them in my SD card and USB wich are both read but still wont find)

5. all you software will be removed along with your settings. however your files will remain ( as windows old in the os drive and the others will be untouched)

just ask if you need anything

Solution

I will try, in case it does not work I will probably come back and post, if it works i'll come back and close the thread (idk how yet)

Wait no thats exactly what I did, and it did not work

no, I don't know what a pendrive is, i don't understand anything, following steps is already hard enough, I really really hate my laptop now anyways

This was litterally the first time I looked into a laptop, and I've tried many solutions, no one has been able to fins what was wrong, so I just feel like erasing everything I don't need so i'm close enought o what I want.
I'm thinking of using it as an emulator station anyways

Well do you know what I should NOT delete ? because i'm about to manually delete everything I find
