Backstory: I have an existing HDD with about 500GB of data on it already. I originally just wanted to lessen the used data on the HDD, so I started moving data around from my HDD to an external HDD, and now my games don't work.

So I need some help figuring out the best way of going about this. I want to change my Primary drive from my HDD to my SSD, with a clean install of Windows 10. I figured I would upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 in the process.

Also, if you have any other advice on how to fix my games without wiping all of my data, that would be appreciated, but I think I just want to start fresh.

Thank you :)

conmsider the games gones, however the save files and whatever stuff is still on the disc. with a fresh install you have to reinstall every game and program.

Unplug data and power cable from the HDD.
Install SSD, connect power, and connect the sata cable to sata port 0 on the mobo.

Go into BIOS, and make sure SATA is set to AHCI mode.
Make the DVD drive as boot order 1 and the SSD as 2

Now, are you using the free upgrade win10 offer for your win 7 licence?
if so you have to reinstall win7, then upgrade , then download win 10 from win10 website tool to a USB key.
Then fresh install win10 via the USB. make USB boot order 1 in bios.
After, make the SSD boot order 1
turn off PC and connect the SATA and power cable to the HDD...

then put the save files from the HDD back in their right location on the SSD. >usually my documents>game>save> etc
