Question Cleaning PS3 Game Disks, Best Methods??

Hi i'm looking to clean a old ps3 game disk, Skyrim, it's got a few scratches pretty sure they are light, i've done research and found the best method to be rubbing alcohol which i have, would that do the job or would it damage the disk ?

Currently the disk is showing quite a bit of lag during gameplay, i am unsure whether the scratches are causing that or it's just the game being old on a ps3, does anyone know if scratches can cause lag?

Anyway what do you guys think is the best home method, apart from going to a professional store?

Rubbing alcohol only cleans off freeze/oils. Doesn’t fix scratches. Also, make sure you use a good microfiber cloth or similar. It could help if that is what the issue is. Light scratches don’t usually cause read issues in my experience. But you can buff them out with a light polish/fill them in with a good wax.
