Cleaning thermal paste off CPU with ethyl alcohol?

I ordered a new fan for my cpu. I'm currently with my stock one and there's thermal paste all over the cpu, badly spread for some reason. My question is if I can use ethyl alcohol 90% for my cpu? This alcohol is supposed to be used for skin problems like acne etc. Isypropyl alcohol isn't that known in my country and what I have is only the ethyl alcohol.

It probably isn't a good idea. They are totally different chemicals, and don't work the same.

Hm but I don't know if I can find isypropyl here. Actually I just found another bottle of aclohol, which IS intented for skin use, with 95,5% aclohol. The ethyl aclohol is mainly for disinfection but I'm not sure if it can damage the cpu. It's fairly new so I don't want a damaged one.

It's not technically alcohol. It's ethanol. They use it in gasoline. If you do use it (not certain AT ALL) it may cause issues. You can look into other things as well. I live in Bulgaria. Aside from that, I'll go and check the pharmacy tomorrow to see if there is the isopropyl alochol there by any chance.
