I bought a MSI a month or so ago and I keep getting BSOD CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT errors. I tried debugging it but it gives me a different reason every time and honestly I don't understand any of it. It will randomly bluescreen, run the fan at full speed and get stuck there unless unplug the power and force it to shut off with the power button. but it wont shut off if the power isnt unplugged.

These are the specs, and below is the link to the minidumps on my google drive.. i really appreciate any help i dont have anyone i know who could help and my abusive ex put the geek squad protect on it under their name and i cant get it honored even though i paid for it...

there is a newer BIOS than the release version you are on, it might help.

Have you run Dragon Centre to see if newer drivers for machine? odd I can't see it listed on the MSI website and yet its on PC.

If its only a month old I would take it back and ask them to fix it. Shouldn't get random errors in a new machine.

well technically i bought it in november, but ive been so busy i hadnt had a chance to use it much.

My ex put geek squad protection on it but its under their name so I cant even use it and we're not on speaking terms..so im left trying to fix it.

Where is the dragon centre? i tried looking it up on my laptop but its not on there.

How hard is it to install a bios, i really dont want to mess it up

Dragon Centre - it might be called MSI Centre, they change its name too often - https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/nb/Notebook-MSI-Center-User-Guide.pdf

It will update drivers and probably BIOS for you
Live Update
  1. Connect to internet, and go to MSI Center [Support > Live Update].
  2. Move the mouse cursor to [Scan] icon, and click on it.
  3. Live Update is capable to analyze the system automatically and give a list with every latest drivers and utilities available for updating.
  4. Select a required driver or utility for updating, and then click [Download] to continue.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

so ive been updating everything except the bios cause the center doesnt seem to do that, and it hasnt BSOD since but i also have it set to sleep after being idle 45 minutes. what are the minidumps showing could it be just overheating? this thing runs really hot
