Cloning HDD to mSata SSD. How to ?

i will be getting my y580 tommorow as well as my crucial m4 256GB mSata SSD. i want to install my SSD ( not sure how ) and clone the HDD onto it. I will be using the SSD as my main drive since it is quite large and I would like to format the HDD after. Is there any software i could use for this or do i just copy + paste ? Also after that i would like to create a backup of the OS and main files on the HDD as well , should i create a seperate partition or .. . . and how to do this

I use Acronis true image home 2010 to clone OS drives. It works great! there have been problems reported for later versions of Acronis but, 2010 works great.
