Hello,

I am going to be cloning my OS NVME to a bigger NVME. I just had a few questions on how to use Macrium Reflect?

1-When installing it asks to install
-CBT
-Image Guardian for ransomware

Should I ignore these? Or include them in the install?

2-When cloning, there is a forensic or intelligent option.

Which is the correct one to use for an OS drive?

Thank you in advance!

1. Ignore them for now, if you use MR (payed version), you can always activate those later on if you want to.
2. Use intelligent option since you are cloning to larger disk, it will automatically resize partitions so you don't lose any space.
3. Make sure you use MR option to make a bootable Rescue USB and test it by booting to it before you start. It has handy troubleshooting options.
4. What is your backup plan ? Do you have another large (external or internal) disk to make backups to? If you do, it may be better to make a full disk backup to it and than restore to new disk with same options.

IMPORTANT.

After cloning, unplug the old (smaller) NVMe drive, before attempting to boot from the new (bigger) NVMe drive.

Failure to observe this precaution sometimes results in the boot sector for the new drive remaining on the old drive. The system will boot into the new drive with no obvious problems, but when you unplug the old drive, the new drive will stop booting.

Best option when cloning is to remove/disconnect all other drives, apart from the source and destination SSDs.
