Does anyone know if it's possible, and if so, what tools are available to do such a thing. What I would like to do is take Server 2003 R2 x64 from a single HDD and clone it to a RAID 0 + 1.
Is the RAID controller already installed? Going from a single hard disk to 4 disks or more in RAID 0+1 can be done, but the tools are somewhat expensive: http://www.acronis.com/backup-recovery/server-windows/ You also need Universal Restore to migrate to dissimilar hardware.
Depending on the raid controller, some come with software to accomplish this within windows. I've gone from a single drive with existing os, to raid 1 ... simply by turning on raid in the bios, and then using the windows based application that came with the controller. No data loss.
Thank you all for your replies. I do believe we will be doing this conversion with Norton Ghost. It will be a weekend long endeavor, will get back to you all on Monday!
