you should get a motherboard that can support x8 in both PSI slots. If you have an x4 and an x16 and try crossfiring, you will not allocate sufficient bandwidth so one gpu is being choked and cant reach its full potential. look for a motherboard that has at least 2 x8 slots or higher.

Generally a "red flag" for motherboards can be found in the color of the pci slot. If they are all the same color, you should be fine.If 2 are black and one is white, that white one is typically an x4. This can be caid with different color schemes (red, blue, ect). Always try to buy a mobo that has all the pcie slots the same color.
