Closing parent folder when opening a subfolder?

Windows 10 running on HP Pavilion p7-1451.
How can I stop file explorer from leaving a main folder open when opening a subquesent subfolder?

No can do. Best you can do would be to make a shorcut to you desired final destination.

Open File Explore
Click on File
Click on “Open each folder in the same window".

This solves the problem of having a parent folder and multiple subfolders open just to get to the file you want.
