CMOS battery dead 2. time

I got my Asus Maximus VI Hero in October last year, a month or so after everything was installed my CMOS battery died, a quick change and my RTC was correct and functional again, however yesterday my RTC is screwing up again and I think its the CMOS battery.
What can cause the death of two batteries, is there something wrong with my motherboard or is it just bad quality and unlucky purchase of batteries?

I5-4670
Asus Maximus VI Hero
Gigabyte 760
760Watts corsair PSU.

Exactly, I've had batteries that have lasted for several years and never needed to change them, that's why this is so weird.

I have a suspicion that your MB is not charging them I have never heard of that before however.

Hello... the MB does not charge the backup batteries... but does have backup capacitors to allow ample time to change out for a new battery.

I had the Same problem with an Asrock 990FX Extreme 9 , couldn't get it to hold charge had to RMA with newegg.
