What will happen if the cmos is incorrectly cleared on an ASUS p4p800 deluxe board? If done incorrectly is the board doa? thanks.

Haven't tried it myself, as I haven't felt the need to mess with clearing the bios on mine, but taken from Asus' page:

CrashFree BIOS 2~
Whenever BIOS gets corrupted, ASUS CrashFree BIOS 2 allows users to reboot the computer and perform an smart auto-recovery procedure through the motherboard support CD.

this sounds odd, incorrectly cleared cmos? hey, its cleared or its not....dont think you can incorrectly clear cmos.....you can however incorrectly flash the bios! is this what you mean?

What do you think you did wrong?

I've done it incorrectly b4 on a couple of mobo's w/o a prob. But, uh, just how "incorrectly" did you do it?

A friend of a friend is selling this mobo and they told me they incorrectly cleared the cmos? I have never had this type of issue and thought it was odd so that is why I posted this topic. Anyway thanks for the replies.

FYI: I am not going to purchase the board because it sounds to bizarre and the sale is 'as is' no money back!
