Question Coax Port Not Working (upstairs)

So I got my router and wanted to set it up in my room. I connected the router to the coax port and no signal was coming. The lights to signify that the internet is pumping through it wasn't lit. I tried it downstairs and somehow it started working there.

I don't know why this is happening but can someone please help me out.

That probably means something is not connected between the coax downstairs and the coax upstairs.

Only you can determine where and what the issue might be.

If u can hook up a TV here and it works, that means the signal is too weak and/or u may have a one-way booster in the middle.

If no TV here, it probably what ^he says, the other end of that jack is been disconnected.

You need to go to the cable entry point to see if you have a butt connector there, routing the signal through a coax running to the point where it works, downstairs. If you have multiple cables running through the house, you can swap the butt connector, leaving it on the drop cable, to another coax running into the house, and test to see if you have the right one.

Of course, if the cables are labeled (which would be the way they should have been installed) that makes the job easier.
