College wifi acess using ap

Hi,
my college offers wifi access but it is restricted to laptops. they use mac filtering to give access to laptops so we cant connect anything else.
i would like to know if i can use TP-LINK usb wifi and change its mac as my laptop's and connect to the wifi and then use it as a repeater for my devices? like using hotspot but by using the tplink device?
