Recently, I switched from a desktop PC to a laptop (HP EliteBook 8530w).
Everything seems to be fine except for the colors.
The colors are off in a way. For example, the color purple is more of a blue-purple, like a washed out bluish purple, if that makes any sense.
Other colors are fine as far as I can see, but the pinks and purples are not.
I did try to override this by increasing the digital vibrance from the graphics card panel, but now everything else is too saturated, and the purple is still not purple.
And to top everything off, the adequate color shows when I scroll.
(For example, if I assign the said purple color to a text in MS Word, the true purple shows up only when I scroll up or down.)
I have tried looking for the answers online, but nothing I found helped.
I have a 32-bit Windows 10, and an nVidia Quadro FX 770m graphics card.
Any help is more than welcome.

Solution

First thing you could do is try reinstalling and updating your graphics card drivers. If that doesn't solve the issue, you will have to send your laptop back to the manufacturer for repair.
If you have an external monitor, perhaps you could try plugging that one in and testing it. If the external monitor displays the correct colours, then there are problems with your laptops's LCD screen.. If the external monitor's colours are off as well then it might be your laptop's graphics card.

Since you recently switched from a desktop to a laptop, are you still under warranty? You could get your laptop replaced or fixed.
