Just a followup, which no one may care about, but I took Combat Jump on
RorShok and finally tested the difference in fall damage.

From the top of the stairs near the "PriceCo" wall sign in south Steel
Canyon: 25 damage with CJ off, 20 with it on. Nuf sed.

Ditto with SJ, (SL?). Sorry no figures to prove it, just trust me
I've seen the diff. and the protection is greater with SJ, natch.
Cat Ninetails
(30 claw/regen) has both, and it seemed pretty apparent to me.

I guess this mighta been an addition at some point. Of course, I could
be wrong. As a related note, I have noticed that if, at the peak of a
SJ, I switch SJ off, I take damage when I land. I'm pretty sure this
didn't used to be the case.

Very true, i've seen the same thing. (as for what used to be the case,
i've only been on since around Aug 04, and I've been pretty clueless
for lots of the time)

Even sometimes when i switched SJ off just 'nanoseconds' before hitting
the ground, like when I've SJed into a mob and i'm trying to get ready
to fight instantly, I still take the damage even though it switched off
*apparently* after i've landed.

From what I remember seeing in the forums about this ages past, what's
happening is that the jump height you get from CJ or SJ is subtracted
from any height you fall, and you only take the damage for the remaining
bit.
IE if SJ had a 150 Foot max height, and you jumper off a 200 foot
building, you'd take the damage for a 50 foot fall.

I think Hurdle has an effect as well since it also boosts jump height,
but that is a bit harder to test since it's not a toggle.
