Ok this might sound weird at first but bare with me please because I have run out of options and tech support on Comcast's end has been no help.
btw I have had this service with no problems for almost a year now.
So I just paid for my Comcast bill about a week ago for a new month of service and everyday since then around 2am-7am the router/modem light for online turns off and I lose all internet access wifi and wired connections I am still able to login to 10.0.0.1 and it shows in the top right that my internet is indeed off, so I call tech support at first she tells me everything looks ok on her end so she has me reset the modem and she will send a signal to it to see if it will respond, it fails then she tells me now there is just all red flags on her end and my modem is not responding at all to anything she tries so she schedules a technician to come out and check everything, the next morning when I wake up around 10am the internet is working fine nothing is wrong so I go about my business go out of town for thr day so I don't know if it went off that night the next day when the tech is supposed to come at 2pm because I needed to be at work at 4:00, I get a call at 3:48, I don't answer so the appointment will be cancelled as there is no way I can have him check out everything and still make it work on time, so I goto work and when I get home around 2:30 am the internet is off and completely unresponsive the same as the other night I call tech support again to see if this guy might notice something the other lady didn't but it was the same run of the mill, turn it off, unplug it, ill send a signal, turn it on, check the wires blah blah blah, all in vain as nothing helped so he suggested to have a tech come out to check everything to see if maybe its the line or modem I told him ill wait until tomorrow to see what happens with the internet and see if it comes back on and go from there.
So I stay up all night and right at 6:56 the online light starts to blink and the modem shuts off and turns back on with all the lights on and my wifi connection appears again still can't connect to anything all the lights were just blinking in random orders until the clock hit right at 7am all lights went to normal and my internet connection was back at full speed like it was never off.
So my question is what could be causing it to do this?
A bad wire would make sense if it went out at random times during the day and same for a bad modem but to turn off the around the same to until around the same time and for the modem to actually restart itself like it did this morning makes it seem like Comcast is turning it off at night and reactivating my service in the morning.
Anyone have any ideas?
