Common black screens on some games

Some games cause my pc to throw black screen with a bugged sound, is it possible its overheating or my psu is not strong enugh? The games that is showing this is Evolve 2 and Savage Lands.
I can play Ark Survival Evolved for hours and nothing even though my gpu is full load with 80 degrees C
Also i can hear high pitched noise when my cpu is loaded.

I have:
i5 4440 with grand kama cross
r9 290x with accelero extreme 3
8 gb hyperx ram
450 corsair psu

I'm guessing you have a VS or CS Corsair, those are the most common and the lowest quality. Past that, even a good quality 450 watt power supply may not keep a R9 290X fed with power properly. I'd swap out the power supply for a 600 watt unit for that video card.

Is it not the resolution that you are running these games at, that or the ratio is probably something you should check before going to guessing it's caused by hardware.

I play on 21:9 2560 1080 resolution. Maybe those games have issue with that scale?

It could be yes, not sure what games you're playing but try to put it down to a more 'normal' ratio and resolution just to see if it fixes it.

The fact that your power supply is not good enough to run a R9 290X most likely.
