I have a compaq presario v5000 it runs on XP and wanted to know if it would work better with windows 10 , The worry is I don't have any of the HP drivers and if windows 10 would have everything to get the laptop running .

A Turion 1.8GHz and 2GB RAM....Win 10 will be slow. On the order of "watching paint dry" slow.
Might it run? Yes.
But it won't work well.
It's a 15 year old laptop, that was slow when it was new.

You're looking at a Single-Core/Single Thread 1.8GHz processor and a maximum of 2GB of RAM. I don't think any Windows OS since Windows XP SP1 would run well on that system. You might consider a light Linux OS.
Would Windows 10 run better? Hard to say as it's been a LONG time since I ran Windows XP on only 2GB of RAM, but I would say, no.
