comparability of old CPU and Motherboard with new GPU

Dears,

I have CPU - I7-4960x and Asus Rampage 4 Black edition, both goes to 2014, previously i had titan GPU and replaced it with 980 ti.

now my question is , i will buy 2080 ti (it is two generation upgrade so it is good). However, my concern is do I need to change CPU and Motherboard ? will it not be comparable ?

If yes then what is the best CPU and motherboard to have best FPS in the new Asus 4K ? should i go with I9 ? although it is extremely overpriced and I7-4960x vs normal I7 i didn't see any difference nor better performance however, it was much expensive then the normal one.

There is still PLENTY of horsepower in the 4960k. I have the 4930k OC'd to 4.5. Upgrading the GPU is fine with your current setup.

Interesting, that's great news, however, I don't know how to do overclocking and not my thing .
