Comparing cpus/gpus, motherboard.

Hello my brother recently upgraded his pc which means he also got the old part which he gifted me and as i already got a pc and i want to have the best out of it, i want to know which parts worth changing out. heres the parts: my pc: gpu: XFX RADEON HD 6950 1gb. motherboard: BIOSTAR 68S3+ ver: 6.1. cpu: AMD ATHLON II X2 250 ........His old parts: gpu: LF R23K ver:1.3 2g. motherboard: ASROCK FM2A78M-HD+. cpu: AMD A8-6600 SERIES.
(note: his cpu doenst fit in my motherboard.)
