Comparison of intel i7 and amd phenom2

i am building up a computer and i want to know what is the better processor, intel i7 or amd phenom

Yes like dipanker2007ind said an Intel i7 is a more powerful CPU.
However AMD Phenom II's are better for the low cost (performance versus cost).
If your planning on building a new computer wait till after this year though as Intel will have a new line of CPU's coming out in January 2011 called Sandybridge (just the code name).They will have better performance than current i7 CPU's and current CPU's will be adjusted in price (lowered) both by Intel and AMD

Strange how at toms we always give away information about purchasing new hardware.It is like being a hardware consultant..
Go for the i7 if you have cash to really burn..But if you are short on cash then i think it is better to get the x4..The differences arent so big and phenom can hold its own against an i7..

2) What do yah do? Gaming? Graphics? Video Trans-coding? RAID? Internet? Office? Door-stop?; and
3) Do you have any parts to re-use? Monitor? OS? KB/M? Speakers? Case? PSU? Graphics?
