[SOLVED] Compatable CPU?

I am looking for a new cpu because my ryzen 3 1200 isn't cutting it anymore. I am looking at the ryzen 5 3600xt but pc part picker says i may have to update my bios. Is a bios update required with my current motherboard? Will this cause any issues?

Not knowing the version your board is on I'm going to say yes, an update is required. Use 7A34vALR(Beta version) .

And as @mdd1963 says, do the update first. Before you swap out CPU's.
