Hello Tom's hardware !
So, I've been working on this build since yesterday and I wanted to know if I picked the correct parts and if they are all compatible with each other(I picked some components from a youtuber)
And I'm using pcpartpicker.
I also want to know what precautions should I take and some little advices and tips.
Here's the link : http://pcpartpicker.com/list/BNswVY
Also down in the compatibility notes it says : Some AMD A88X chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Kaveri CPUs.
If my mobo doesn't support this cpu before updating it, how can I update it?
Any help would be much appreciated.
P.s: It's my first build attempt :pt1cable:

Solution

Everything looks good but I would make one change instead of a gtx 960 maybe look into a rx 480 its a $200 card that performs better than the 970 http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/231134-amd-radeon-rx-480-review-the-best-200-gpu-you-can-buy-today

With the precautions if this is your first build make sure you watch a video on how to position everything and don't accidentally break something. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZUYymbCH1w.

About the compatibility issue it depends. most of the time it will come with the latest bios but if it doesn't you will need a older cpu to use to update the system.

I do agree with you about the graphics card and thank you for replying btw, but I want a chaper solution because I'm acutally building this pc with more than my limited 470$ buget.
OH, and about the bios update I already have an older cpu, it's an intel core 2 duo E4400 2GHZ and I'm pretty sure it'll do the job (IF) I need to update the bios, however I don't know how to :pt1cable:
It'll be reeeeally appreciated too if you can provide me with some links or any other help about guides on how to update the bios JUST in case that one is older to run the Amd cpu that I included inmy build.

I took another look at your build and was wondering what case you were using also do you need the cpu cooler are you going to be overclocking? I also did a bit of research and found you can get more performance for your dollar so I put this build together http://pcpartpicker.com/list/6Prd6X You will get a more powerful cpu and you won't have any compatibility issues. If you have any questions on that let me know.

On your origional build here's where to download the bios and drivers

http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5291#bios

How to install them https://youtu.be/1oyZDhv94k0

Also that intel core duo won't work it's an intel cpu not an amd.

Solution

:??: maan I didnt know that the cpu won't do the job, well i guess I'll ask one of my friends to lend me an old amd cpu if they have one :/
Actually I don't know my case's name xD
But I rly think it goes ok with the ssd and the hdd, also i decided not to buy an after-market cooler because I'm not going to overclock anything, the integrated cooler with the cpu will keep it fine I think.
Edit: here's the new link: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/f3rd6X
I'll also check the build that you sent me, it sounds great.
Thank you alot man I really appreciate your help :pt1cable:

I decided to go with your build, altough I really wanted an ssd, I really like the idea of an SSHD, it's really an awsome build I'll go with it.
Thanks 😀
Though, is the integrated psu of your build non, semi or fully modular?
I need to know this so that I know if I can uppgrade the pc in the futur and add in an ssd along with the other sshd.
P.s: I looked at the pictures and it doesn't show the sata/data cables.
Also: Do I need to buy any thermal paste to apply it on the heatsink/cpu ?

Glad you liked the build! The PSU is not modular but has enough cables on it to support a few hard drives. And you don't need any thermal paste the CPU comes with a heat sink with thermal paste already applied. Sata cables always come with the motherboard (usually 2 of them) If you have anymore questions let me know. Also when you get the parts MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING watch the video I linked you and follow the instructions. If you follow that you should be fine.

That CPU probably won't cut it and may bottleneck your GPU performance under load. To stay low on cost I would suggest the FX 8350. You'll need a different motherboard though, an AM3+ board. For an overclock I would suggest the 970 or 990 chipset, also keep in mind these CPU's are hot. The CoolerMaster Hyper 212 evo is a great choice. Also I agree, RX 480 for the GPU. Everything else seems fine.

I see what you mean.
However, I'm not interested in graphics that much, the only reason I'm going to get a fairly descent Gpu is to run games smoothly enough, even in the lowest settings possible.
But I also want to keep a balance between graphics and performace.
I want to play games that take almost nothing to run at high settings like :League Of Legends, Cs:Go, Overwatch...etc.
Edit:Now I understand what is bottlenecking a gpu/cpu so I'll try to keep a balance somehow.
Also I'm not planning on overclocking anything, I heard it's very bad for the cpu because it can cause overheating and explode in my cute face :pt1cable:
I know that I can easily prevent that by getting an after-market cooler like the one you told me about.
But saddly I can't afford anything more :pt1cable:

So, here's the final, final and FINAL result that I came up with(I only changed the ram to save 3 bucks) :pt1cable:
Is it worth it?
Did I do anything wrong with the ram/that will affect my performance?
Thank you :pt1cable:
