Compatibility help me

Hey, first time building a PC and I'm getting really frustrated as it won't turn on. I have tried everything but is my MoBo and CPU compatible? My motherboard is a ASUS Strix B250F and my CPU is a I5 8600K, thanks any help appreciated!

Those two components will not be compatible.
The processor uses LGA 1151 Series 300 chipset, while the motherboard is compatible with series 200 chipset processors.
