Hey there forum ,

So I've made a thread like 2 weeks ago about making a gaming PC , I started ordering some parts . I got a P400 Tempered Glass , a Aorus X370 gaming 5 motherboard and my Ryzen 1600X should arrive soon .

I'm not buying all my parts at once since I don't have the money but I want to have most of the parts and boot the system up with my old GPU by the end of the month .

My question is ram compatibility : I never really heard of this before , the older systems I built , I just picked out the coolest looking rams and went for it , shouldn't be it be the same case this time around ?

I want to buy the memory used since the prices are just waaay to high now and I want some cool RGB ones but how do I know which ones to get ? I know there is a memory compatibility list but when I search the ram i want to buy only the numbers and letters until the frequency match up , does that mean it's supported ?

Example :

I found some nice RGB Corsair Ram online with this serial :

CMR16GX4M2A2666C16

and on the compatibility list the closest to this is:

CMR16GX4M2C3466C16 ver4.31

Thank you!
