Compatible rams with motherboard

Hi,

I would like to ask if there is any website or ways to check if my current motherboard of my PC is compatible with the ram that i intend to upgrade with? As I am currently using only 4GB (2X2GB) and want to upgrade to 8GB without the need to upgrade the entire PC

I have also went to Gigabyte's website to check on the ram compatibility, however their website provides an outdated list.

Current motherboard: Gigabyte EP45-DS3LR

Thanks for the reply. But I am curious is the ram model that I am intending to purchase is it compatible with my motherboard that I already own.
