Hi,

I'm making up a PC and need to choose a decent CPU cooler that will work well with the following compoents:
Mobo: Asus X99-S
CPU: LGA2011-V3 i7 5930K
RAM: G Skill RipJaws 4

Initially I was going to go for a Coolermaster Evo 212, but I read that it might not be adequate for a powerful X99 system, so now I'm thinking of the Raijintek Tisis Dual Element Extreme.

However, my fear is, will a giant cooler like this fit on this motherboard with the big ol' ram too?

Solution
Those ripjaws are low profile so giant coolers should not interfere with them. Personally i have Noctua NH-D14 (2011 version) and thats a superb cooler. NH-D15 should fit as well and is even slightly better. You could also consider cryorig R1 ultimate.

edit: worth noting i have Asus x99-deluxe and ripjaws 4, so same setup actually..
Are you looking for water cooling or just air cooling? Also is this intended to be a quiet system. If it is supposed to be silent, than water cooling would definitely be a smarter choice.

Air cooling - I know leaks are unlikely, but I'd rather no chance than any :)

As for noise, the quieter the better, but I am not aiming for a silent system. I suppose performance is the most important factor, but ofc I'd like to avoid jet engines.

Cheers

Brilliant - I couldn't find it clearly written anywhere if the ram was actually low profile or not. I assumed not because of the heat-sinks, but am pleased this isn't the case. Also nice to have confirmation from someone with the same stuff :)

The NH-D15 is the other cooler I was debating, provided my ram would allow the large coolers, but the Raijintek seemed like better value for money. I may revisit this though and will also check out your other recommendation.

Edit:
After looking in to the Cryorig, I am sold - it looks great. One is on it's way to me now :) Thanks again.

Apologies for the very very late reply - I assume you made a choice by now, but for anyone else looking: yes, it worked great - I'm very happy with it :)
