hello guys. i wanna ask a question(s) about building full rig. for now, i'm planning to build a rig of these:

1 - intel i3-4170
2 - asus b85m-g
3 - hyper fury ddr3 1600mhz 8gb
4 - seagate barracuda 3.5" HDD 1Tb ( no SSD since i'm on tight budget for now )
5 - asus gtx 550 Ti 1GbDdr5 ( will upgrade to asus gtx 750 Ti PH 2GbDdr5 later )
6 - bitfenix nova black
7 - RS-500-PCAR-A3 psu 500w

i hope someone can help me and what should i upgrade later. btw, i'm from malaysia. Thanks 😀

Solution
No matter which i3 variant u choose skylake or haswell or broadwell they all will be Dual cores only.
So go for an i5 4th gen.
It will suffice all ur need for gaming, rendering and heavy tasks too.!
Well i3 skylake are also good but they are 2corse with hyperthreading viz in my opinion is not upto the mark.So go for an i5 and u wont regret at all.
Thanx
Regard

i think i will stick to that gpu for a long time. how about the cpu+mobo? i dont know if that cpu+mobo will make a nice pair.

i thought for i3 6100 at first, but seriously im out of budget. maybe i can wait a little longer for skylake. thx for that.

for current currency, $400

will consider that and thank you 😀

There is nothing wrong with i3s.
They are essentially quad cores due to the hyperthreading, and act as such. An i5 is out of the question in this case, and an i3 will work without a bottleneck up to an RX 480.

This is the absolute best you can do in that price range, goes a bit over, but is well worth it.
