Are the components good and compatible for my first build?
if there are better parts for the price please state

CPU: i5 4590
Motherboard: MSI H87M-G43 or/maybe MSI B85-G41 PC Mate
GPU: Asus R9 270 2GB
RAM: Corsair Memory Vengeance Blue 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800(1600)
HDD: WD 1TB Desktop SATA - OEM - Green

operating system: i already have copy of windows 7

also i want to crossfire in the future (if its worth it)

Since you don't want to overclock, I would advice getting a cheaper PSU. A single card set up is usually better than duals.

Other than this, either mobo will handle a single GPU and are a decent chipset, looks good

When you upgrade your GPU later on, try to buy a new GPU 2 tiers or higher from your current GPU from the list to get the most performance/price out of it.

Edit: get a blue drive instead of a green for your HDD. The blue are better performance.

first of all im from the uk

i decided on the 600W over a 500W psu for crossfire support in the future- i dont know if crossfire (2 gpu's) is better or just replacing the card with another will be beneficial

as for the hdd from reviews i thought the green was quieter/better than the blue

isn't it blue<green<black...?

Black used to be good, but something changed recently and "blue are the new blacks" price/performance wise. Green you can't really use an OS because they are so slow. The XFX 550w is available in the UK

As for crossfire, 750w is the recommended amount. You could go with a good quality 650w though
