Hello,

I am deeply confused, I have worked with a lot of computers but I am stumped. I need to get wifi on my pc which I rebuilt(new 9600x, Asus Tuf B650m-plus and g.skill ram) I got it to boot on my old windows install but now it cannot connect to wifi because there is NO wifi device in device manager. When I try and change adapter options there is only "bluetooth network connections 2" and "ethernet 2".

So now I go to get the driver for the wifi device, extract and run the exe. nothing happens. update device manager, nothing happens, show hidden devices, nothing new. I have used CMD to reset all of my wifi settings and checked services to make sure it is in fact automatically running updates in the background. I have followed like 8 guides, and the only thing I can think of still would be installing a legacy device but my pc does not include mediatek drivers for this wifi card(unless its just intel drivers??)

Any help is appreciated. I assume I can install a legacy device but idk what drivers would work and I would rather ask first.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

So this tells me you swapped motherboards.

but didn't reinstall your OS.

If that assumption of mine is correct, then you need to reinstall your OS and you'll get functionality of your WiFi adapter.

Did you try running the ASUS driver hub app:

trying that, not sure how to get it to reinstall without it asking for the password that I have forgotten on an account linked to an old phone number. Thanks for the advice I have a feeling thats the easiest fix besides buying a usb network card

Did you try running the ASUS driver hub app:

from messing around with it all that does is try to connect to the internet to do the install so thats a no go.

Your new motherboard doesn't have integrated wifi.
Do you have a discrete wifi card? What model is it?

If your old motherboard had integrated wifi and you changed your motherboard, then wifi connectivity is no more.

Reinstall AMD chipset drivers.
You have to click on <Show All> to reveal all drivers in chipset section.
https://www.asus.com/motherboards-c...esk_download?model2Name=TUF-GAMING-B650M-PLUS

Re-installation of chipset drivers should force re-detection of all pcie devices.
Wifi card should get detected after that (unless you don't have any wifi card installed).
