Hello guys,

I want to ask you, what componets help to run unity3D and programs like Inventor (my thoughts: CPU,RAM)

I want to buy new PC, I would love to know if I need CPU like i7 for unity3D, Inventor, or will be i5 enough. I know you can say that i5 will be definnitly enough, but I really would love to go deep in Unity3D (I need to run properly programs for Engeneering like Inventor too, becous I am on Engeneering University) and programming, so I want to buy proper PC for it now.

I build this http://pcpartpicker.com/user/KennyJG/saved/YKzbt6
but as I said I would love to know if I really need expensive parts like this..., if you can find some parts that will be enough for me, and I can replace them to save some money.

BTW, in that build I placed 1070, i will replace that with RX480 to save some money, yeaa I am bit gamer too so I need good gpu too, but I dont need high-end like 1070, and RX480 will be really good for low cost :).

Thank you for your attention.

You have a computer with an I5 now, right? Would it be too much trouble to try out these programs right now on your current machine and see how they run? That way you can actually figure out if you need a large performance increase or not without doing guesswork.

Also, for what you do, a Broadwell-E CPU would be best IMO.

Now i Have 6 years old PC from HP... 😀 (yea prebuild... I was young and dumb), with i5-2300 and problems like its sometimes shutdowns (I think powersupply problem), and all parts are really old, and yea I tried Unity3D now it runs somehow, but I am newbie in Unity3D so I cant tell how difficult will be to run larger projects.

Yeah, you are in need for an upgrade it sounds like. Have you considered the Intel Xeon E3-1230 V5 CPU? You can usually save quite a bit of money, it's basically an I7-6700K without the integrated graphics, and a somewhat lower frequency, but costs about $100 less usually. With that you can get a cheaper motherboard like the Gigabyte X150 board here https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Motherboards-DDR4-GA-X150-PLUS-WS/dp/B01AG8WKOY?ie=UTF8&tag=pcpapi-20

I realize you probably don't want to spend a boat load of cash, and this should provide you with a huge upgrade from your current CPU without breaking the bank.

I really dont know much about xeon, but this one looks nice, just maybe gaming performence will be lower than i7-6700k, but how much lower? but for work it will have same performece? (becous games using more like single core frequency but programs can use more cores?)

and just to be clear I want all from my old PC to throw away and buy all new components
and I am from Czechia... and that MOBO is not avaible to buy here .. 🙁, i just search two of them MSI E3M WORKSTATION V5 - Intel C232 and ASUS E3 PRO GAMING V5 - Intel C232

Gaming performance will not be a problem. For heavily single-threaded games it goes up to 3.8Ghz. It's the latest Skylake architecture - no problem at all with games.

Depending on the price of those other two motherboards, it might be best to just go with the 6700K. I'd also look into X99 motherboards and the I7-6800K.

Yea, I will probably stick with 6700k, how about cooler? , I choosed noctua, but I really dont like how it looks 😀, any good cooler that will keep me cpu save?

Yea, but better cooler will make life of my cpu longer or not? and that RM750i is just like 15USD more expensive than RM650i so I think its better to have some room for future

And I can preorder EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0, 8GB GDDR5 for 500 EUR, its good deal or I have to wait becous price will drop? and one more question is good decision to go with this EVGA or choose another gpu?
