Computer being slow and randomly freezing "not responding"

Basically it only started today, it works fine then every few minutes after I click something it shows the spinning loading thing beside the cursor, the page freezes, nothing is interact-able, I get the "Not Responding" error and it's very frustrating. I don't want to have to resort to wiping everything and installing a fresh windows.

Ugh. Did a restore, it updated fine; everything loaded like it used to, now the same issue is happening AGAIN.
