Hi, I just build my computer, and I tried to start it right now, I was glad it started but on my screen there was nothing but black.. I did not smell any burning, everything is running the same after 3 attempts my motherboard does get power because all fans spin up and my graphics card glows with name windforce... I got all cables connected I think, pci-e x2 for graphics card, atx_12v_2x4, big cable, usb 3.0, hd audio, usb, little cables, hdd cables, cd-rom cables.. thats all i got connected ( im using my old hdd and it does not make any ticking or any other thing and im using my old cd-rom) ill write down my specs:
z170x gaming 3
i7-6700
Kingston HyperX Fury DIMM 8GB, DDR4-2133, CL14-14-14 (x2)
Seasonic S12II Bronze Non-Modular 80+ Bronze 620W
Suppressor F51
geforce 960 gtx windforce 4GB

please help with this

Controller ? If you mean graphics, then yes, I did try plugging there too but same result as graphics card, though its not about graphics, its why does it only run 30 sec? and restarts..

Did you actually remove the GeForce GTX 960 card and plug the monitor into the appropriate video port on the motherboard?

The system is actually booting up to a point. Otherwise a reboot wouldn't happen.

The system may be looking for a bootable device and upon not finding one it is forcing a reboot.

I did not yet, I am gonna be attempting right now, though I looked up in google I found out that it could be because it needs new thermal paste and I had put it a few days earlier... so I'm putting a new one right now, and gonna try booting without graphics card.

Ok.. So it's the same, I changed Thermal Paste, and removed my graphics card, everything starts to work but after 30 seconds it shuts down.. Any other suggestions ?

When you say "shuts down" do you mean it actually powers off?

Does anything show up on the monitor at all?

Are the memory modules fully seated in the memory slots?

When I press case start button, computer powers up and everything seems to work, graphics card works, mother board lights up too, fans spin, but after 15-30 sec it shuts down and starts up again.. I put my memory cards in black slots ddr4_4 and ddr4_3 both same rams... On the screen nothing shows up though I have this blue button and it blinks from time to time while screen is just being black... So I really don't know what to do.. Though could it be because I use my old HDD ? Could it cause like bios start up failure ? I was using whole different board and old bios so maybe that..?

To find out if the motherboard, CPU and memory are actually passing POST (i.e. Power On Self Test) you don't need any HDD attached to the motherboard's SATA port.

It is more important to get something to show up on the monitor first. Even the ability to get into the UEFI BIOS Setup is more important than getting the system to boot from the HDD at this time.

Okay, so you want me to plug out HDD and then start up only with CPU and rams ?

Yes. You want to eliminate as many variables as possible when troubleshooting.

Okay, so its still the same thing going on, starts up some time later shuts down.. Nothing on screen but black

Yes it does, computer started beeping very loudly every one second, I turned it off before it could it self because it hurt my ears... So what then ? It has something different when I take them out..

Try it with only one memory module in the DDR4_1 memory slot.

That can't be right.. I just got the motherboard today... And CPU is brand new too.. I'm gonna be giving my computer to mechanic tomorrow then.. Well thanks for help anyway then..

It doesn't matter if you just received the component today. There's no guarantee that a component can't arrive defective or even D.O.A. (i.e. Dead On Arrival).

Back in January I ordered a motherboard that arrived defective. It was a good thing I had a spare CPU to test with to determine that it was actually the motherboard that was defective and not my CPU.
