Computer Build (Inexperienced)

I agree with Coolboy, that's the better build all around. The APU is nice. I'm forgetting how far AMD is coming with them...

Anyway, of those components, the only thing I'd do is maybe get a better monitor. A lot of these monitors look strange, have weird sharpness and contrast, etc. I'm just saying that from experience with cheap monitors in my college. They're fine when using them for a few hours, but if you use 'em all day, it might bother your eyes. Though given the size, it may not be a bad price and may perform well. I'm not familiar with the monitor you chose. I had went with this one, and it's been fantastic. Great for the money overall...

Also, I don't like Seagate HDD's, and I'd recommend a WD Blue, but I don't think it'll matter overall.

But yeah, you stayed within a good budget for an overall good build. Good luck!!

Yeah the monitor that he listed isnt the best but the HDD he listed is good for a budget build

What's the main use of the PC for starters? I usally recommend any i5 or FX 8core for normal 'use' PC, because with such a base you can also upgrade to a gaming state (with the right mobo), and so you'll be able to get a longer lifespan. BUT if you want a cheap, acceptable PC you're good to go :)

Jasper, the reason I liked the APU for him was because of superior integrated graphics, so that's a HUGE plus without a dedicated card if you want to do some gaming a whatnot.

But honestly, I think that for most uses, that APU is going to perform well, wether it be gaming or even some HD video editing, as long as you understand its limitations. The only real thing you could do OP, is add a dedicated GPU and go dual graphics with the APU. It'll have great gaming performance. But where you're at right now, even for some 720p gaming at decent settings, you're gonna be good to go.

Patriot, I'm not saying you're wrong at all on any aspect. That's why I asked OP what the main use is gonna be. The only thing I stated is that a (perhaps more expensive) base gives you more headroom to upgrade and get a longer lifespan out of the mobo and cpu.

We both know a APU isn't as good as a FX with a 280X, plus a FX-8350 gives you more space to upgrade in the future. And I don't know the precize costs, but it will probably be more profitable due to the extra lifespan.

His budget is 628$ you cant fit a fx 8350 and video card in there bud

I'm pretty much gunna be using it for anything and everything, at a small scale. Some video editing, some gaming, business related things, even possibly some 3D printing

if your gonna do that than the AMD APU is the best option, But i would highly recommend spending an extra 100-150$ to add A GPU
