Computer crash, bunch of red bars/dots

So I was playing a game, Heroes of newearth (been playing for a few hours) when
my new computer decided to crash! Making strange noise and showing red bars/dots. Then it restarted.
Now I can't get it to open windows again. Whenever the windows loading page appears, red bar made of red dots appears and the computer crashes.

I was able to open windows in safe mode (there is still a bunch of red bars in the back)

Now attempting windows repair.

Anybody knows what the hell happened and how can I fix it?

Nop windows repair didn't find anything, can't startup on the last known safe boot or whatever the name of the option in advance windows start up options.

If you're getting a lot of pixilation on the screen with red/white pixels and bars then your video card is dying or overheating. Is it on-board video or a discrete card? If it's discrete, I would check the fan on the card to make sure it's still working. Try switching out the cards or adding on if it's on-board video and seeing if that fixes the issue.

I have 2 gtx 560 ti video cards, which were working fine up until now.. I'll try that to see if it works.

So, I just changed my 560 spot on the motherboard (the 1st one in spot 2 and 2nd one in spot 1). Strangely everything works fine now. Fans on both cards are working. What does that mean? Does that mean that card no 1 should be replaced? I only bought it last week. Does the warranty cover this?

Go down to a single card and try both cards in Slot 1, this way you can see if it's the card themselves or the PCI-E slot. If you're seeing the pixels in SLI make sure you have the latest drivers installed and the BIOS is configured correctly.

Yes, the warranty will cover the card so submit an RMA if needed.

Soooooo got a bit of a problem right now... After the graphic card thing, internet stopped working, wireless card AND wired connection. So I tried to uninstall reinstall the drivers, which didn't do much. Tried to reinstall the program that came with the wireless card. There was a light on the lan port but nothing. Then after a while I went into BIOS and to reset it to default settings. (there was an option in it about LAN I guess it somehow got disabled. There is also a detection for the wire, which now detects my connection. Problem is, now, I can't boot up windows anymore. It crashes every single time. So i tried to install a new clean version of windows and... nop, can't do it. It won't let me. I'm kind of screwed and clueless right now. I can't see why having the BIOS on default setting would screw everything like that. (psrticularly since I didn't change much)

how old is your motherboard? check to see if there are any of the capacitors (little cylinders with X, K or Y stamped on top) that are bulging, swollen or leaking. This is a common issue with older boards and can cause all sorts of weird stuff to happen.

Since you're running 2 560s in SLI i doubt this is an aged board but it doesn't hurt to check the caps anyways.

One way or another even if you can't confirm why, it sounds like the board is borked.

Does it spit you an error when you try to install windows? Can you boot from the CD? are you even getting a POST now?

Yeah I got an error right when I started installing windows, didn't take the number though. But now, I decided to format the SSD and try it again and, it seems to work. CD is booting, BIOS works fine. I'll see if I can get open windows when the installation finishes. My motherboard is a z68x-ud3h-b3 that I bought 1 week ago. Brand new out of the box

well it could be that the motherboard is having issues in it's burn-in period.

What SSD are you using? (If you're having issues installing and say an OCZ I won't be too surprised)

Corsair Force 3 120 gig, took me 15 minutes to install windows the first time

Yup, tried two times to reinstall windows and I got the error whatever the number is. So I guess my motherboard is broken... I guess I'll have to try and return it to the seller, pretty much dead on arrival if you ask me.

I know this post is really old now but I'm having a similar problem with my MSI M7 and 2 MSI 980tis... Maybe it's a similar problem?
