Hey guys,

I've recently bought Nier; Automata, and for some strange reason, my computer always crashes without warning, and restarts (no BSOD either) for seemingly no reason.

I'm suspecting that my PSU is at fault, though it should have enough power to support my setup.

I'm running a GTX 1080, and an i7 4790k, both not overclocked, and they don't overheat when I encounter the crash. The temps for my GPU is around 60 degrees and CPU at 40 degeres when playing. I've searched around the forum, and it seems that a lot of people have said that this is a power supply problem. However, my PSU (a Cooler Power 1050w) should have enough power to support the system. TBH the PSU was probably the dodgiest part of my build (the one I was after was out of stock, so the guy just gave me this instead).

Either way, I can't really pinpoint the issue, but it only happens with this game (have not experienced it at all with other titles not sure why though.

So i'm thinking of ugrapding my PSU. When I was building my PC, I heard that the EVGA Supernova G2 750w was the probably the best, and i'm just wondering if that is still true. If there are new and better PSU's out there now, i'd love some suggestions.

EDIT: On a side note, i also wonder why I get a BSOD that says "watchdog violation"... I uninstalled all my drivers using DDU and reinstalled them for the 1080. Dunno why it still happens. I'd love some input on this as well. Thanks

Cheerios,

Are you talking about this PSU?

If so, it is a crap quality and almost certainly an issue. No amperage ratings on each rail, only a single web page mentions this PSU, no reviews whatsoever - it seems lika a noname crappy model that can hardly provide 500W on +12V rail, let alone 1050. It could be even less in practice.

If possible, replace it with this EVGA B2 750W you suggested, it is a truly remarkable PSU. There is even a newer, G3 version (albeit more expensive).

Yeah that seems to be the one loll... I'll get an upgrade. Lets hope this will fix the issues. Also, is there a significant difference between the G, and P series? Whats the difference between P2, G2L and G3? The only difference I can see is the fan size.. They're all the same price otherwise?

I'm also from Australia, so do you know any places that might sell them?
