Hi Folks,

I am reaching out for some help with some parts needed to build a new PC.

First, this is my existing machine

CPU: Intel i7 2600
RAM: 16 GB DDR3 Corsair Vengeance (4x4)
Mobo: Asus P8Z68 Deluxe Gen 3
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Evo CPU Fan
PSU: Corsair AX 850W
GPU: (Initial) MSI GeForce 560 Ti -> (Current) MSI GeForce RTX 2060
HDD:
- 2.5" 250 GB SATA II Samsung 840 Pro SSD
- 2.5" 500 GB SATA II Samsung 850 Pro SSD
- 3.5" 4TB SATA I WD Black HDD
Case: Corsair Graphite Series™ 600T Mid-Tower Case
Optical Drive: Asus Bluray Burner

Yes, it is 15 years old. 🙁 , and I still play R6 Siege, Rocket League, FIFA and AC series in this. Its clearly in ventilator support now... in its last stages. I can't open a browser, if I have a game or another app running...

The new machine that I would like to build

CPU: AMD Ryzen™ 7 9800X3D (is 9900X3D or 9950X3D worth the extra $)

RAM:
VENGEANCE® 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 DRAM 6000MT/s CL30 AMD EXPO & Intel XMP Memory Kit

SSD: Obviously, I want to carry on stuff from the previous build. M.2 NVMe SSDs - one for the OS, one for the games, and last prolly for the storage. Options that I am looking at are below, any advise
- Crucial 1TB T705 NVMe PCIe 5.0 M.2 Internal SSD
- Samsung 9100 PRO with Heatsink 1 TB SSD NVMe™ M.2
- Samsung 990 PRO w/ Heatsink 2 TB SSD NVMe™ M.2
- WD_BLACK SN8100 NVMe SSD - 1TB, With Heatsink
- WD_BLACK SN850X NVMe™ SSD - 2TB, With Heatsink

PSU:
RMe Series RM1000e Fully Modular Low-Noise ATX Power Supply (ATX 3.1 Certified, PCIe 5.1 compatible)

Mobo: this is where I request your help with - I am looking at X870 or X870E chipsets. OR should I go for X850?
- at least three M.2 slots for PCIe 5.0 NVMe disks; and with the ability to use Two of them withOUT lane sharing with GPU
- latest WiFi 7 (320 MHz), Bluetooth (5.4)
- recent audio codec (ACL4080 min)
- sufficient ports / connectivity

CPU Cooler: I would like to go for the Corsair H series, but the website clearly does not help distinguish what is what. I was confused...Choices I am looking at
- Noctua NH-D15 G2
- Corsair NAUTILUS 360 RS ARGB
- Arctic Freezer 36 A-RGB (Black)
- Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 A-RGB
- Cooler Master Hyper 622 Halo Black
- Cooler Master MasterAir MA824 Stealth 30th Anniversary Edition Dual Tower CPU Air Cooler

Case : Suggestions for a good case, that goes well the PSU, Mobo, and good airflow (basically that can fit the largest consumer GPU 5090, and large Air or Liquid coolers)... I will likely purchase aftermarket fans; preferrably if it has a section to fit in a BluRay burner 😀

I am not planning on replacing the GPU for now. The old display, keyboard, mouse will be carried over.

If you're looking for a generic answer;
Either ram kit will do.
You're fine with a B850 chipset.
Either PSU will do as well.
Best AIO in the category is the Arctic's Liquid Freezer III Pro.
I am not planning on replacing the GPU for now. The old display, keyboard, mouse will be carried over.
Which are? Apart from the RTX 2060 listed above, the rest aren't mentioned.

Hi, I apologize for not making my post according to the guidelines, though I did go through them before posting here.

so - I have an old machine (a really old one for that matter), and would like to move to a new one. And in that I would like to go for the latest and greatest, while at the sametime making some wise choices (why would someone want to buy MSI Godlike or threadripper, etc.; so definitely out of the question)

I am from India; and I should be able to get most if not all that we would want to build here.

I am not planning on replacing the GPU for now. The old display, keyboard, mouse will be carried over.

Answers to the above - LG 27" UltraGear, CM Storm Red-Switch and DeathAdder V3

Now, let me try to be more specific:
  • CPU - 9800X3D vs 9950X3D , would it make a difference if I have to involve AI related tasks, etc. like copilot, Claude, etc. I dont want to be left behind if AI is going to be big in the next few years.
  • MoBo - is there one which does NOT lane share, as I would like to use all 3 (or at least 2) slots at full PCIe 5.0 bandwidth along with the GPU at full bandwidth. Hence is there a board that has these
    • at least 3 / three M.2 slots for PCIe 5.0 NVMe disks; and with the ability to use atleast 2 of them withOUT lane sharing with GPU (to run 5.0 @ x16)
    • latest WiFi 7 (320 MHz) & Bluetooth (5.4)
    • recent audio codec (minimum ACL4080)
    • sufficient ports / connectivity (USB 4.0)
  • CPU Coolers - should i be concerned about leakage from AIO Coolers (I am someone who least maintains their setup); if not I will be happy with Air Coolers. Is there one with Digital Displays - that shares the temp, rpm, etc.? I am pretty sure the choices I had above didn't have them.
  • Case - I will definitely consider @Why_Me 's suggestion (Antec FLUX PRO ATX Full Tower Case ) above, thuogh its slightly on the expensive side for me. One question would be - would it support the larger CPU Air Coolers (Dual 140 MM fans) or AIO 420 MMs, and a large 5090 GPU? TBH, I am not looking for anything fancy on the case - as long as it is able to Support large CPU Air Coolers (Dual 140 MM fans) andAIO 420 MMs, and a large 5090 GPU. An advantage would 5.25" drive bay and 3.5" HDD bay support.

A dual tower cpu cooler will work fine and if your primary use will be gaming then look at the 7800x3D. If going with an AIO then a 360mm Deepcool or Arctic Freezer Pro. There's plenty of mid tower cases that have sufficient room for your gpu.
