Computer crashes to grey screen then reboots.

So my PC has recently started crashing to a grey screen and then a few seconds later rebooting automatically. This usually happens when playing a game that is quite high spec although it has happened once or twice when opening a new tab in chrome. I have uninstalled all my graphics drivers and done a driver sweep in safe mode then reinstalled from the official website.

Any ideas?

Specs are:
AMD FX 6300 350 ghz
Kingston HyperX 8GB 1866 mhz
MSi Radeon HD7850 2 gb
Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 (Motherboard)
EVGA 500w psu

Ok so I have cleaned out my case and reseated the graphics card and replugged all connections.
So far I have not had a crash but it is still only one hour in to using it and I am getting some faint horizontal lines across my monitor which I have only just noticed when the screen is dark. I am not sure if these were present before though...

Still keep me updated with possible fixes?

It could be a card problem or a PSU problem, is your card running hot? Do you have another, suitable PSU to try?

The PSU is fairly new, less than a year old.
I have an older one but it was used for about 5 years previously and dont trust the integrity of it.

PSU is an EVGA Bronze 500w 80 plus and has had no issues what so ever in the past.

Haven't tried a different driver version, where would I find older drivers?

Be careful with the Crimson drivers, I'm not sure which one has the fan bug.

Okay I see what you mean, the old PSU isn't powerful enough to run your rig.

So Ive just taken my computer apart to try and check for any loose or wrongly seated components/wires and just as habit I chacked my CPU. IT HAS NO THERMAL PASTE WHAT-SO-EVER!

Could this be the problem?
I know obviously it needs to be resolved anyway but could this be causing my BSOD issues?

The MOBO came pre-assembled and I didnt check the paste as I presumed it would have it...

None at all? Who built the system? That would be why then, it's strange though, PC's don't usually reboot if the CPU is overheating, from experience they just shut down. Could you take a picture of the CPU and bottom of the cooler as it is now please? Don't use your PC any further until you have applied thermal paste. How long have you had this PC?

Well, no thermal paste isn't helping either way, you need to apply it anyway to avoid damage. Be sure to clean where the thermal paste will go first, you can google what to use if you don't know. One thing I don't understand is, if there is NO paste, then how have you had no issues for 9 months? Could you take a picture before you apply the paste please? Please do look in your history, I'd like to take a look and see if anyone else has has any problems with them.

Hi guys sorry for the delay, my computer hasn't been used since I discovered no thermal paste on the cpu. I have now added some to see if this fixes the problem.

A quick look in my eBay past purchases and it appears to have come from a Maplins store. Wish I had of looked earlier as I've just been there to get the thermal paste!

On startup my computer still had the worrying screen flicker however I am going to leave it idle for an hour or two before trying an intensive game and see if it has made a difference. I am aware that the paste will take a good while to "cure" so I am not expecting miracles this early.

If this doesn't work then I am guessing its a GPU problem and time for a new card???

Still getting crashes and screen flicker after giving it a good clean and reseat. Thermal paste applied and still no further forward.

I get paid tonight so I am going to get a new card at the weekend. Probably an R9 380 as it fits my budget.

Obviously a dead/dying GPU.
