Hi,

I have been getting random crashes on my computer whilst playing games - now I understand this probably indicates an overheating issue but I'm not sure where or if it actually is.

So the computer crashes and the display stops, the fans then speed up to maximum speed (not sure which ones). However, the computer still allows me to talk through teamspeak even after the computer has crashed. This indicates that the CPU is still working fine? Therefore I would assume it is the graphics card crashing? It is a sapphire 7850 2gb - I'm not sure if people have had this problem previously? Any chance it could be a ram issue? I have 16gb of crucial ram.

Operating System
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
CPU
Intel Core i5 3570K @ 3.40GHz 40 °C
Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology
RAM
16.0 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 668MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. P8Z77-M PRO (LGA1155) 21 °C
Graphics
S240HL (1920x1080@60Hz)
AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series
Hard Drives
224GB OCZ-AGILITY3 (SSD)

Best Regards,
Robert

you might want to check if your ram is faulty . remove one stick and see if it crashes if it works ok swap ram sticks over and check the one that was removed and see how stable it is and use a ramchecker
