Computer crashing because of lack of memory

I want to know if my computer will stop crashing ( when i watch youtube videos in 720p, play some video games my computer turns off and a blue screen appears) if i get more RAM ( 4gb - 8gb) now i have 2gb.And will my games run faster thank you

It's hard to say without knowing what hardware is in the computer. I highly doubt the BSOD is caused by a lack of memory. It's more likely that either a component is failing, a driver is crashing, or something is overheating. What are your complete specs including model numbers?

-Amd athlon II x2 245 2.9ghz
-2gb of ram
-32bit
-windows 7
my graphics card is nvidia something but now i just changed to windows 7 and i don't know if it'll change anything

No, you won't be able to use more than 4GB of RAM with a 32 bit OS. You would need a 64 bit OS to use 8GB of RAM. What model motherboard do you have?

Your motherboard uses DDR2 RAM which is obsolete. Here is a list of available 4GB DDR2 RAM kits on Newegg:
