I am having this problem with my computer. It crashes on me without notice, BSOD, or event in event viewer, this has been happening since i got the computer (used) and the troubleshooting i have done inst revealing what is causing it. The computer crashes and reboots at random points. My CPU is not going over 50c (122f) so i don't think it is overheating on me.

This started when i got the computer, i tried replacing the ram thinking it may have been bad ram, and put a video card into it so i could actually play games (what i was getting it for).

The specs are:

CPU - Intel Core 2 quad Q8300
MOBO - Intel g43 (stock motherboard from Dell Inspiron 560)
RAM - 4GB (2x2gb) G.SKILL RIPJAWS X DDR3-1333 PC3-10666
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 TI
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 7200, 320GB SATA 3.0Gb/s
CD/DVD - Atapi DVD A DH16A6S
PSU - Orion 585W

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, Kohron

Solution
Test the hard drive with Hitachi DFT for DOS, it will test any brand of drive as long as it's less than 3 TB capacity.
You'll have to make a CD from the DFT CD Image which is here: http://www.hgst.com/support/downloads/legacy-downloads#DFT

You can use IMGBurn to create the CD from the CD Image: http://filehippo.com/download_imgburn

When CD has been made, boot your PC from it to test the hard drive.

If the hard drive passes okay, then the PSU may be faulty as Orion is not a brand we recommend, it's pretty low quality.

Using SpeedFan's S.M.A.R.T HDD checker, it shows me that my HDD is at 93% Fitness and 93% Perfomance, and i have done a chkdsk/r which came back with no problems. Does this tell you the info your looking for about the HDD?

Get Windows setup and try restoring to a previous state, coz if any of your software update did this..
Or I think you should try reinstalling windows. May be some virus tampered with your Windows internal files!

The only thing installed on it when it happened to me the first time was MSE and Office and chrome. No games or additional programs, and i dont have the disk for 64bit windows, the guy i bought it from (computer shop guy) sold it with the OS.

You can try running a different OS like Linux Ubuntu from site - ubuntu.com. Follow instructions how to install it in a pendrive. Then try running it. It will assure you that no hardware problem is causing this to happen! (if ubuntu runs successfully ). If successful then you will have to reinstall windows again!
Also check your HDD for errors or anything while in ubuntu or try to check errors from a third party application installed in a bootable disk as mentioned above.
