Hey all, I read bunch of threads here but couldn't really find what I need. Here's the background.
Got a desktop with
i7 (dont remember details)
asus P8Z68-V PRO MB
16 GB ram
got a SSD and couple HDDs
750w corsair
dual gtx 1060
So it was working fine. And couple days ago, I hit the power button. I saw the LEDs and fans coming on for a second, and dying, and again, coming on for a sec and dying, and coming on for a sec and dying. Happened probably 4-5 times. Then... death...
Now I click and nothing happens. no LEDs, no fans come on. nothing.
Oh and the MB has a Power switch and a reset witch on the PCB, so those mini LEds were glowing red and green.
So here's what I did:
- Even though those two mini LEDs glowing, I changed the PSU. Bought a new one --> nothing
- Rerouted cables inside the case, eliminated a cable or two --> nothing
- Replaced the CMOS battery --> nothing
- Switched reset button cable with power button cable, tried the reset switch to turn it on --> nothing
didn't have any heating issues in the past. The case was dusty though, so cleaned that up.
Now, do I go after the case now? thinking maybe there is a short I can't spot?
Or do I go after the MB?
I am guessing it is not the CPU cuz there is literally no life!
Thoughts?
