Computer does not recognize graphicscard

My screen only recognizes my computer when i plug it in to my intergrated graphics card, not when i plug it in to my other graphics card that is much better. I have tried HDMI and DVI. Sorry if i have bad english i hope you understand.

unplug the wall plug of your pc
reset the BIOS of your motherboard by jum per
connect the video cable to your graphics card
power on the pc

update the BIOS of your motherboard within BIOS itself

which motherboard and graphics card do you have?
